Cubic Zirconia Engagement Rings Are an Affordable Option

These days, it may be difficult to afford some things that you want but that does not mean you have to give up on them all together. For instance if you want to buy your special lady an engagement ring, you should consider optically flawless, low cost and durable cubic zirconia engagement rings.

Now, before you form an opinion on the subject, keep one important thing in mind. Cubic zirconia has come a long way from where it started. Now you can buy beautiful cubic zirconia rings that will fool everyone. No one will know that you do not have a real diamond on your hand. There are cubic zirconia engagement rings in every style and cut and you will be blown away when you see them.

They look just like the incredibly expensive diamond rings you may have been drooling over at your local jewelry store. If you are wondering what cubic zirconia is, it is a man made, simulated diamond. Real diamonds occur naturally and are cut and polished and sold as loose stones or in settings. Originally, man made simulated diamonds did not look very realistic.

However, now you can purchase cubic zirconia rings that sparkle and shine and look every bit as beautiful as diamond rings that cost ten times as much, if not more. These beautiful stones are available in emerald cut, heart shapes, round, trillion cut and virtually any shape you can dream of. Just like real diamond engagement rings, cubic zirconia engagement rings are now found in colored stones, as well.

Jewelry Armoire Shopping – Some Tips on Finding Perfect Jewelry Armoires

So I had a major problem a couple of months ago. I had a big party to attend for my husband’s work, and it was a gala affair. I had already picked out the evening gown I was going to wear, had my hair done up, and found the perfect clutch bag to match my heels. All I needed now was that gorgeous south sea pearl necklace and the matching diamond and pearl earrings, which my hubby had already bought for me for the occasion. But like I said, there was a big problem: I couldn’t find my jewelry anywhere! Or more specifically, my jewelry was found everywhere – on my makeup desk, on the chest of drawers, on the bathroom sink, in the kitchen – but my pearl necklace and earrings were lost in that mysterious zone where everything goes when you lose it. I had ten minutes, and I was coming up short. Yikes!

That’s when I made the decision then and there to shop for a jewelry armoire to keep everything organized and in one place – and it was one of the best decisions I ever made! I wanted a jewelry armoire because I knew that it would be bigger than a regular jewelry box, so it would be hard for me to misplace the actual armoire itself! Anyway, I learned a lot in the shopping process so I wanted to post a quick article with a couple tips for you to make your shopping experience easier.

The History of the Amethyst Gemstone

When it comes to the history of the Amethyst gemstone, you may be surprised to know that it has a long history of previously having been one of the most precious of gemstones… enough to have been treasured by the likes of ancient Egyptians, ancient Greeks, and well as royalty of various cultures throughout history. Until recently the Amethyst was a gemstone of great worth, but since then there has been an explosion of available sources of Amethyst Gemstone which has resulted in a vast drop in value.

During historic times, the color purple came to represent royalty, simply due to the scarcity of natural purple dyes which were only available to the rich and wealthy. Riding on this color representation, as well as the scarcity of available gemstone, the Amethyst became a much favoured gemstone of historic royalty. Amethyst jewelry was adorned by Egyptian Royalty, Catherine the Great of Russia, as well as featuring in the Crown Jewels of Britain.

In Greek Mythology, there is a story explaining the creation of this alluring purple color of the Amethyst Gemstone. Initially as the story goes, Dionysus, the Greek God of “grape harvest and wine” was very angry, intoxicated, and ready to reap havoc on an unsuspected mortal human being. In his aghast, Dionysus unleashed his exotic beasts at Amethyst who was a youthful maiden simply on her way to pay homage to Diana, the Greek Goddess. As Amethyst cried out for help, Diana herself appeared and quickly turned the young girl into a shimmering quartz statue to protect her. Dionysus soon understood the wrong-doing that he had done and cried tears of wine which ended up staining the quartz statue and turning it into a beautiful, purple Amethyst gemstone.
